Assistant Basketball Coach: Jesus Flores
(UTEP, 06)

Coach Flores has spent the past 3 seasons with Coach Lovely rebuilding local programs.  “Coach Flores is one of the hardest working Assistant Coaches I’ve ever had, his contributions are treasured.” Coach Lovely.

Coach Flores was born and raised in Chihuahua Mexico, where he played high school basketball and two seasons in the Mexico semi-pro league (LIREBA) before going to college at the University of Texas at El Paso where he graduated with a Kinesiology Major and Education minor.

While at UTEP he had the opportunity to work as a student athletic trainer for great coaches like Billy Gillespie (University of Kentucky), Doc Sadler (University of Nebraska), and Randall Dickey (Oklahoma State). Under Coach Gillespie at UTEP he was a witness to one of the biggest program turnarounds in college basketball history as the Miners went from a record of 6-24 to 24-8; as they went on to win their conference championship, have two NCAA Tournament appearances, and a NIT Tournament appearance.

He currently teaches Spanish at Westwind Preparatory Academy.
